Chair's Message - January 2026
Dear FSGA Members,
As we turn the calendar to a new year, there’s a renewed sense of momentum across FSGA. 2026 is shaping up to be an exciting, engaging, and consequential year for our association and the broader fantasy sports and gaming industry, and we’re already off to a strong start.
That momentum is most visible as we head into our Winter Conference, Feb. 17-18 at Circa Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, where registrations are trending ahead of last year and the energy is building fast. We’ve extended the nomination deadline for the 2025 FSGA Industry Awards - this is your chance to earn industry-wide recognition for the work you’re most proud of. Nominate here. We’re also finalizing a packed agenda featuring an AI Workshop, Brand Development Workshop, an Ask Me Anything session with VSiN, and a slate of timely conversations designed to help our members grow smarter, faster, and more sustainably. Explore the full lineup of sessions and speakers and start prepping for an exciting time in Vegas!
One important reminder as you finalize your plans: please make your hotel reservations by Jan. 23 to secure our discounted rate and ensure you’re staying where the action happens.
If you haven’t yet, I also encourage you to check out our latest podcast episode, From Community to Company: Building a Fantasy Football Media Brand with Faraz Siddiqi. This episode talks about building one of the most engaged fantasy football communities on Instagram and beyond.
On the advocacy front, there are several developments worth flagging that SBC Americas has covered in the last month. The IRS recently issued new guidance on W-2G reporting, including discussion around a proposed 90 percent loss offset, which could have meaningful implications for operators. We are also monitoring proposed new regulatory language in Colorado that could impact fantasy sports operations in the state.
We also want to reiterate our position on the Federal Excise Tax. If any members have been involved in audits related to this issue, please reach out to Miller & Chevalier.
Finally, a quick housekeeping note: 2026 membership renewals are now in their grace period. If you have not done so already, please take a moment to renew and ensure uninterrupted access to FSGA resources, advocacy, and events.
We’re excited about what lies ahead and look forward to seeing many of you in person next month.
Warm regards,
Brandon Loeschner
Chair, FSGA Board of Directors
